Job summary

Brand Collective’s Designworks division is expanding as Forever 21 shapes its fashion-forward ranges. As Product Designer & Developer, you’ll translate trends and customer insights into commercially viable product, leading from concept to production with offshore partners.

You’ll also create compelling visuals and use AI-assisted tools to accelerate ideation and development. You’ll collaborate across Buying, Planning, Technical, Production and Sourcing to balance creativity with brand

Qualifications

  • 3–4+ years as a Fashion Designer
  • Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or related discipline
  • Strong Adobe Illustrator skills and eye for colour, texture and presentation
  • Solid knowledge of fabrics, trims, garment construction, fit and manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Develop seasonal Forever 21 ranges informed by insights and trends
  • Research fashion trends, competitors and market opportunities
  • Design from concept through to production including drawings, fabrics and trims
  • Manage sampling, critical paths and offshore supplier relationships
  • Create range books, mood boards and presentation materials
  • Present concepts to Buyers, licensors and stakeholders and align with cross-functional teams

ABOUT DESIGNWORKS

Designworks is Brand Collective’s product design, development and sourcing division, partnering with leading brands and retailers to bring commercially successful products to market.

From concept through to development, sourcing and production, our team combines creative expertise with commercial thinking to create product that connects with customers and delivers for our partners.

ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

Working within Designworks, you’ll help bring Forever 21 to market as one of our brand partners, creating trend-led product that captures the energy and attitude of this globally recognised fashion brand.

As Product Designer & Developer, you’ll translate emerging fashion trends, customer insights and the Forever 21 brand into commercially compelling ranges. You’ll own the design and development journey from concept through to finished product, working across trend research, range development, fabrications, sampling and offshore production.

You’ll also bring each range to life through compelling visual presentation, while using AI-assisted tools to accelerate ideation, trend research and design development. Working closely with Buying, Planning, Technical, Production and Sourcing, you’ll balance creative ambition with commercial targets, critical paths and brand requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Develop seasonal Forever 21 ranges informed by customer insights, trend research and previous performance
  • Research fashion trends, competitors and market opportunities to shape commercially relevant range direction
  • Design and develop product from concept through to production, including technical drawings, fabrics, trims, colour and print
  • Manage sampling, critical path timelines and offshore supplier relationships to deliver product on time
  • Create costing art sheets, range books, mood boards and presentation materials to bring concepts to life
  • Present range concepts and product updates to Buyers, licensors and key stakeholders, incorporating feedbackPartner with Buying, Planning, Technical, Production and Sourcing to deliver commercially successful ranges
ABOUT YOU
  • 3–4+ years’ experience as a Fashion Designer, ideally across youth, womenswear or trend-led fashion
  • Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or a related discipline
  • Strong Adobe Illustrator skills and a confident eye for colour, texture, scale and visual presentation
  • Strong understanding of fashion trends and the Forever 21 target customer, with the ability to translate trends into commercial productSolid knowledge of fabrics, textile construction, trims, garment construction, fit and manufacturing
  • Comfortable working with offshore suppliers, critical paths and multiple competing priorities
  • Curious about AI and emerging design technologies, with strong communication, organisation and collaboration skills
