Job summary

Brand Collective is seeking a Senior Web Developer to shape the technology behind our digital ecosystem. You’ll support 19+ Shopify Plus storefronts, optimize performance, and drive integrations across systems and marketplaces.

You’ll work with CRO, APIs, AI-enabled development, and front-end/back-end disciplines to deliver fast, accessible, commercially effective experiences. This role collaborates with multiple teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in web development, ideally in ecommerce or retail environments.
• Strong hands-on Shopify Plus development experience (Liquid, Shopify APIs, CLI, metafields).
• Advanced front-end skills: JavaScript/TypeScript, React, HTML, CSS/Tailwind; solid back-end development experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise high-performance Shopify Plus experiences across 19+ brand websites using Liquid, JS, React, Tailwind, HTML and CSS.
• Build and maintain APIs, integrations and custom Shopify solutions (Apparel21, Searchspring, Klaviyo, payments).
• Drive CRO via A/B testing, funnel analysis and data-led UX improvements.
• Contribute to mobile app and marketplace experiences including The Iconic, Amazon and eBay integrations.
• Champion AI-enabled development to improve coding, testing and delivery velocity.
• Own front-end performance: Core Web Vitals, speed, mobile responsiveness and accessibility.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Trade, Marketing and external teams to set technical direction.

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Web Developer to play a key role in shaping the technology behind Brand Collective's digital ecosystem.

You'll work across 19+ Shopify Plus websites spanning leading Australian and international footwear, apparel and lifestyle brands, with the opportunity to influence everything from high-performing storefronts and mobile experiences through to marketplace integrations and the systems powering our e-commerce operations.

This isn't simply a role focused on maintaining websites. You'll help shape how our digital platforms evolve, working across Shopify Plus, CRO, APIs, integrations, mobile, marketplaces and AI-enabled development to create faster, smarter and more commercially effective digital experiences.

Working closely with our Digital Delivery, UX, Product, Trade and Marketing teams, as well as external agencies and technology partners, you'll bring strong technical thinking and a commercial mindset to projects that directly impact customer experience and revenue.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Develop and optimise high-performance Shopify Plus experiences across 19+ brand websites, using Liquid, JavaScript, React, Tailwind, HTML and CSS.
• Build and maintain APIs, integrations and custom Shopify solutions across systems including Apparel21, Searchspring, Klaviyo and payment platforms.
• Drive conversion rate optimisation, using A/B testing, funnel analysis and data-led UX improvements to maximise digital performance.
• Contribute to mobile app and marketplace experiences, including integrations with platforms such as The Iconic, Amazon and eBay.
• Champion AI-enabled development practices, using emerging tools to improve coding, testing, documentation and delivery velocity.
• Own front-end performance and technical optimisation, including Core Web Vitals, page speed, mobile responsiveness and accessibility.
• Partner with Product, UX, Trade, Marketing and external technology teams to shape the technical direction of our digital ecosystem.

ABOUT YOU

• 7+ years' experience in web development, ideally across ecommerce, retail or digital agency environments.
• Strong hands-on Shopify Plus development experience, including Liquid, Shopify APIs, Shopify CLI, metaobjects and metafields.
• Advanced front-end skills across JavaScript/TypeScript, React, HTML and CSS/Tailwind, alongside solid back-end development experience.
• Experience delivering ecommerce integrations, APIs and digital platforms, with exposure to mobile or marketplace development highly regarded.
• Commercially minded with an understanding of CRO, analytics and data-led digital optimisation.
• Comfortable with modern development practices including Git, CI/CD, Agile and AI-enabled development tools.
• A proactive, collaborative problem solver who can translate complex technical challenges into practical solutions that improve customer and business outcomes.
