Job summary

The Biennale of Sydney is seeking a Producer to plan, coordinate, produce and deliver the festival's public programs, ensuring a diverse, engaging and high-quality lineup that complements the exhibition.

Working with the Artistic Director and production leads, you will translate creative concepts into practical, accessible events, manage venues, budgets, contracts, staff and safety, while building partnerships with artists and communities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience producing and delivering safe, accessible and financially sustainable public programs, festivals, cultural events, performances or comparable live events.
• Strong project and event management skills, with the ability to coordinate complex logistics, schedules, venues, ticketing, staffing, volunteers and risk requirements.
• Demonstrated financial, administrative and reporting capability, including budget development and monitoring, accurate documentation, use of CRM and project-management systems.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including building partnerships and working collaboratively with artists, schools, communities, venue partners and internal teams.
• Demonstrated leadership and people-management skills, including supervising staff, educators, volunteers and interns.
• Understanding of event production, including venue operations, technical requirements, logistics, accessibility, risk management and WHS.
• Willingness and availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during key program delivery periods.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, produce and deliver the Biennale of Sydney’s public programs, ensuring a diverse, engaging and high-quality program that complements the exhibition’s artistic vision.
• Work closely with the Artistic Director, curatorial team and Head of Production and Festival Delivery to translate concepts into practical, accessible and financially responsible events.
• Oversee artist and presenter liaison, venues, schedules, budgets, contracts, technical requirements, staffing and audience access.
• Ensure programs are delivered safely and efficiently, in line with organisational objectives and compliance requirements.
• Create meaningful opportunities for audiences to engage with contemporary art, artists, ideas and communities.
