About The Role

Reporting to the CFO, you will coordinate purchasing and supplier activities to support our vessel and shore teams across Australia. You will help ensure operational requirements are met safely, on time and cost-effectively across our sites. This role combines day-to-day purchasing with the opportunity to develop a consistent, centralised procurement process across the business.

  • Coordinating purchasing across all locations, consolidating common requirements while responding to individual vessel and port needs.
  • Identifying savings through consolidated purchasing, supplier agreements, discounts and rebates.
  • Maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring pricing, quality and delivery performance, and resolving supply issues, returns and warranty claims.
  • Assessing quotations, negotiating pricing and delivery terms, and raising purchase orders within approved budgets and authority.
  • Working with vessel and shore teams to manage critical spares, stock levels, transfers and deliveries.
  • Developing consistent procurement processes and supporting teams in using purchasing procedures and systems.
  • Resolving purchasing and invoice discrepancies with local teams and Accounts Payable, and reporting on expenditure, outstanding orders and savings.
About You

You bring a responsive, service focused approach and can balance urgent operational demands with sound purchasing practices. You build effective relationships with suppliers and colleagues and understand the importance of reliable supply to operational continuity.

You Will Ideally Have
  • Experience in procurement or purchasing within marine, engineering, logistics, heavy industry or a similar operational environment.
  • Strong sourcing, negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Experience purchasing technical parts, equipment and services, with the ability to work with technical specialists to confirm requirements.
  • Confidence using purchasing or ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, with strong attention to record accuracy.
  • An understanding of inventory management, freight coordination and purchase order and invoice reconciliation.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to supporting geographically dispersed teams.

Relevant qualifications in procurement, supply chain or business, and experience supporting vessel operations, would be well regarded.

Why join us?
