Job summary

Core Talent is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager in Sydney to lead purchasing, supplier relationships and inventory management across the business. You will develop sourcing strategies, drive cost reductions, monitor supplier performance and guide a purchasing team to meet operational and commercial targets.

The role requires strong negotiation, analytical skills and a track record of improving supply chain efficiency within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimise cost, quality, lead times and continuity of supply.
• Manage key supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and establish effective supplier agreements.
• Monitor market trends, supplier performance and purchasing costs to identify savings and reduce supply chain risks.
• Oversee inventory management, demand forecasting and purchasing activities to maintain appropriate stock levels and minimise stockouts.
• Lead and develop the purchasing team, ensuring performance targets and operational requirements are achieved.
• Coordinate shipping, receiving and supplier deliveries to ensure goods meet agreed specifications and timeframes.
• Identify and assess alternative suppliers to strengthen supply chain resilience and maintain competitive pricing.
• Work with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to source and develop new products.
• Monitor product quality, manage supplier audits and ensure compliance with ethical sourcing requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement, inventory control and supply chain processes.
• Prepare performance reports, monitor KPIs and contribute to strategic business planning.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, relevant regulations and workplace health and safety requirements.
