Planning Talent is partnering with a fashion apparel brand in Melbourne to recruit a Production Manager. You will own the procurement-led production lifecycle within the wholesale portfolio, coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers to secure on-time delivery and quality across garments.

This role focuses on order placement, production monitoring, shipping documentation, and factory payments, with a strong emphasis on organisation, communication, and meeting tight deadlines.

Join this fashion apparel brand in the role of Production Manager to oversee the production lifecycle within the wholesale portfolio of an exciting and dynamic retail and wholesale business.

You will have a proven background in production & procurement with a focus on order placement, production monitoring, and ensuring on-time delivery to retail partners. This is not a traditional production manager role - there are product developers and GT's in the business - this is a procurement focused role.

This role demands exceptional organisational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

Order Placement:

• Collaborate with sales, product development, and design teams to understand production requirements and ensure alignment with customer needs.
• Place production orders with factories, ensuring accuracy in specifications and timelines.
• Negotiate production terms, lead times, and pricing with suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes.

Production Monitoring:

• Manage production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.
• Maintain regular communication with factories to monitor production progress and proactively address any issues.
• Support quality control efforts to ensure all clothing items meet high standards.

Delivery Management:

• Coordinate with logistics to ensure timely and efficient delivery of finished products.
• Identify and resolve potential production or shipping delays, ensuring smooth workflow from factory to warehouse.
• Communicate delivery timelines and updates to relevant stakeholders, including sales and customer service teams.

Shipping Documentation:

• Oversee the receipt and processing of all shipping documentation from factories, ensuring compliance with requirements.
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of shipping documents to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
• Work closely with the logistics team to manage all documentation for shipments.

Factory Payment Register:

• Maintain and update the factory payment register, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
• Process factory invoices promptly, adhering to payment terms and resolving any discrepancies with the finance team.
