Responsibilities

• Act as a conduit between the Sales and Marketing teams and the buyers and operations team members.
• Use product- and supplier-specific knowledge to recommend optimal sourcing options for products.
• Collaborate with technical and product development teams to fulfil procurement deliverables of category development plans.
• Lead the process of collating, comparing, and selecting suppliers that meet the brief requirements.
• Engage in continuous improvement to streamline RFQ processes and sourcing briefs.

Job description

Salary Range $97,000- $110,000 (plus superannuation)

About The Opportunity

The Procurement Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective maintenance and expansion, of the range of externally procured products that meet the needs of our organisation and our customers. This includes the role of narrowing the required product brief, and the tactical and strategic execution of purchasing decisions to meet quality, brand, commercial and competitive objectives.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Acting as a conduit between the Sales and Marketing teams and the individual buyers and operations team members
• Using product-specific, and supplier-specific knowledge to recommend the optimal sourcing options for products
• Collaborating with the technical and product development teams to fulfil the procurement deliverables of the category development plans
• Leading the process of collating, comparing, and recommending or selecting suppliers that best meet the requirements for a given brief
• Engaging in continuous improvement and training with key stakeholders to streamline opportunities to build and maintain rapid-quote opportunities, improve accuracy of RFQ’s (Request for Quotes) and detail of sourcing briefs
• Managing key supplier relationships and commercial negotiations
• Engaging in the benchmarking of commercial competitive of product categories, and macro pricing trends of products and input commodities

The Successful Candidate Will Possess The Following

• Demonstrated experience in strategic supplier selection and management
• In depth knowledge of food and retail packaging industry trends, practices, standards, and suppliers
• Strong and adaptable written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with stakeholders from multiple disciplines
• Exceptional personal and professional ethics and respect for confidentiality
• Strong attention to detail with highly developed numerical capability and ability to evaluate commercial outcomes
• Ability to show initiative and be proactive in problem solving and issue management

Note: Previous sourcing experience from China, and the ability to speak fluent Mandarin to communicate effectively with our Chinese market is an essential requirement for this role.
