Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking a Purchasing Officer to manage warehouse inventory and source ad-hoc requests through existing supplier arrangements. The role reports to the Procurement Officer and involves coordinating stocktakes, ensuring compliance with financial management practices, and maintaining supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in purchasing functions and inventory management.
• Strong IT skills, especially Inventory Management systems.
• Proficiency in creating and managing files in Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate stores ordering, purchasing and stocktakes in accordance with procedures.
• Supervise Stores Officers to ensure efficient warehousing and delivery services.
• Maintain stores management policies and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
• Provide health and safety training and coordinate storage practices (MSDS).
• Maintain supplier relationships and report performance to supervisor.
