Job summary

Mackay Sugar is seeking a Procurement Coordinator to join the Central Procurement Office at Farleigh. You will process demand requirements, create purchase orders and support procurement policies while aligning with production operations and asset management.

The role reports to the Procurement Manager and is based at the Farleigh facility. Ideal candidates have procurement experience in heavy industry, strong communication skills, SAP proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement in heavy industrial environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, supply chain or finance.

Job description

TheProcurement Coordinator reports to the Procurement Manager and contributes to Mackay Sugar's Procurement Team through the processing of demand requirements and requisitions for materials and services; support of and involvement in operational procurement activities such as creation of purchase orders and managing expediting, development and refinement of procurement policies and procedures; contributing to procurement performance reporting, whilst developing a sound understanding of business operations to support internal customers with commercial advice in production operations, asset management and capital project delivery disciplines. The role will be based at our Business Service Centre, Central Procurement Office at Farleigh.

Skills & Experience

• Possess experience in a similar procurement role, with a demonstrated understanding of procurement processes and functions, within heavy industrial / asset management / manufacturing environments or similar.
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication capabilities to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels.
• Ability to manage competing work requirements in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of SAP, or similar ERP system, and Microsoft applications including word, excel and PowerPoint.
• A customer service attitude, balanced against the need to think and act strategically.
• Ability to work individually and within a team environment.
• Commitment to Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental standards

• Relevant tertiary qualifications (Business, Supply Chain, Finance) and / or extensive technical and commercial experience in a related field will be highly regarded.
