Job summary

Mackay Sugar seeks an Inventory Support Officer to join the Procurement team. Reporting to the Inventory Coordinator, you will assist daily warehouse operations, inventory control, data entry, stocktaking, rotable equipment management and vendor-managed inventory across sites.

This role blends office administration with on-site operational support, requiring strong communication with internal teams and suppliers, plus proficiency in digital systems and task scheduling.

Qualifications

• Experience in supply chain, warehousing or logistics is preferred.
• Strong organisational and time management skills are essential.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP R3 is expected.
• Current forklift license and unrestricted C-class driver’s license required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Work with Procurement to ensure top-tier service and stock integrity.
• Manage and optimise stock levels for operational efficiency.
• Lead rotable equipment activities and associated documentation.
• Support warehouse operations including receipting stock and updates.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels across multiple locations.
• Conduct regular physical stock checks and reconcile discrepancies.
• Oversee monthly inventory tasks and purchase order creation.
• Handle urgent ad-hoc requests across production sites.
• Assist Inventory Coordinator with total stock profile and master data.

Job description

Mackay Sugar is seeking an Inventory Support Officer to join our Procurement team. Reporting to the Inventory Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting daily warehouse operations, inventory control, data entry, stocktaking, rotable equipment management and vendor-managed inventory processes across multiple locations.

This role requires effective communication between internal teams and suppliers, proficiency in using digital systems and strong skills in task scheduling and document reporting. The position combines a significant office-based administrative segment as well as on‑site operational support.

• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels across various storage locations
• Conduct regular physical stock checks and reconcile discrepancies
• Oversee monthly recurring inventory tasks, including purchase order creation
• Effectively handle urgent, ad-hoc requests at multiple production sites
• Assist Inventory Coordinator in managing total stock profile and master data
