Randstad is seeking an AO5 Procurement Advisor on behalf of a large government department in South East Queensland, Australia. This 12-month contract role focuses on developing and implementing procurement strategies within a regional procurement and program support team.

The position involves end-to-end procurement activity, governance compliance, and staff development within a government setting.

Qualifications

• Manage end-to-end procurement activity implementation, including planning, documentation, evaluation, supplier negotiation, contract documentation and contract management.
• Provide accurate and professional advice to clients regarding procurement activities.
• Liaise with counterparts to improve local business processes and practices.
• Ensure outcomes through resource utilization, performance monitoring, analysis and reporting.
• Develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Lead and coach support staff to develop skills and training needs.
• Ensure practices comply with policies, legislation and governance obligations.

About the Client We are currently seeking an AO5 - Procurement Advisor on behalf of a large government department. This organisation is responsible for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of critical road infrastructure across a fast-growing area of South East Queensland.

About the Role

This is an equivalent to AO5 level position, offered as a 12-month contract with possible extension. Working within a regional procurement and program support team, you will develop and implement innovative procurement strategies and activities.

Key Accountabilities

• Managing end-to-end procurement activity implementation, including procurement planning and documentation, evaluation, supplier negotiation, contract documentation, and contract management.
• Providing accurate and professional advice and support to clients regarding end-to-end procurement activity.
• Liaising with counterparts to gain further knowledge with the aim of refining local business processes and practices.
• Ensuring successful business outcomes through effective resource utilisation, performance monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
• Establishing and maintaining effective internal and external relationships.
• Developing and implementing business improvement initiatives to streamline procurement processes and procedures for customers.
• Leading and coaching support staff, ensuring appropriate skill sets and training needs are identified and developed.
• Ensuring operational practices and standards of service comply with departmental policies, legislation (including WH&S), and governance obligations.

Requirements

• Current holder of a Class C driver's licence.
• Required to undergo employment screening, including a criminal history check, as part of the selection process.
