Job summary

Australian Red Cross Lifeblood is seeking a Permanent Part-Time team member in Casuarina NSW to assist in processing, customer service and logistics for blood and blood product movement. The role includes unpacking, logging data, handling components, stock management, and transport coordination.

A Monday–Friday roster with rotating shifts and on-call weeks is required. You will contribute to precise inventory management in a fast-paced, regulated environment and support delivering life-saving

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, warehouse and distribution processes.
• High attention to detail in processing, picking, packing and dispatch.
• Laboratory experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Customer service experience in health or regulated environments is ideal.
• Supply chain, warehouse or distribution experience in health/pharma is beneficial.
• Undertake routine work according to SOPs in a regulated production environment.
• Ability to lift 13–20 kg; operate vehicles and coordinate transport.
• Proactive, collaborative, and able to deliver strong results.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full, unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence for deliveries.

About the role

Working within our Manufacturing & Logistics Business Unit and supporting our Darwin Depot, you'll provide a high level of service and support to customers. We're looking for an enthusiastic, team-oriented individual to process blood products, pick and pack orders, receive and supply blood product orders, and manage customer feedback.

Overall, you'll contribute to the accurate and efficient movement and supply of blood and blood components within the frameworks of Lifeblood's standard operating procedures. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of the process and maintain positive working relationships with staff and colleagues.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where precision, care, and collaboration with team are essential to succeed in close-knit team environment.

A day in the role will see you :

• Unpack shippers and accurately log data into Lifeblood systems.
• Process and separate blood components.
• Separate and store red cells, freeze and store plasma components.
• Maintain accurate inventory, cycle counts & monitor stock levels while equally ensuring products are traceable, correctly stored to be used before expiry.
• Process orders, enquiries, and critical product movements with accuracy and urgency.
• Participate in standard equipment set up, and maintain clean, safe, compliant workspaces and equipment including cleaning of fridges, freezers & general work area.
• Drive company vehicle & deliver the life-saving blood products as well as coordinate and support the transport and delivery through couriers & transport providers.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to both internal and external stakeholders—because every interaction matters.
• Maintain strict adherence & quality control measure through Standard Operating Procedures, cGMP, and TGA requirements & look for continuous improvement initiatives.

• Operational knowledge and experience of manufacturing, customer service, warehouse, and distribution processes and principles.
• High attention to detail resulting in accurate processing, picking, packing and dispatch.
• Experience in a scientific laboratory would be advantageous but not essential.
• Solid customer service experience within a similar industry is ideal.
• Supply chain, warehouse or distribution experience would be beneficial preferably in the health sector, pharmaceutical or regulated environment.
• Ability to undertake routine work according to standard operating procedures in a regulated production environment.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, confidently juggling priorities to achieve expected outcomes.
• Ability to frequently lift (13-20Kg), stand, walk, bend, & twist to operate different platforms.
• Pro-active & a natural collaborator who can deliver strong results.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full, unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence to support deliveries and pickups using a company vehicle.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity with a rotating Monday-to-Friday roster, covering shifts between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.Due to the operational requirements of the role, you will also be required to participate in an on-call roster for one week (Tuesday to Tuesday) every four weeks.
