About the role

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Process Worker – Sheet Metal / Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team at our Blacktown site.

This is a hands-on role within our Sheet Metal area, operating machinery to cut, bend and form sheet metal and aluminium components used in our manufacturing process.

The role would suit someone who has previous machine operation experience, particularly working with sheet metal, aluminium, cutting or bending machinery.

Afternoon shift hours:
Monday to Thursday: 1:30pm – 10:00pm
Friday: 11:00am – 5:00pm

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Sheetmetal Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for:

• Setting up, operating and monitoring sheet metal machinery
• Cutting, bending and forming sheet metal and aluminium components
• Selecting jobs and matching drawings with machine programs
• Measuring dimensions, angles and rotations and making adjustments where required
• Changing tooling and ensuring the correct tooling and drawings are used
• Monitoring machine performance, making adjustments and responding to breakdowns
• Performing regular Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities
• Organising work queues and loading raw materials
• Moving finished components safely to the next stage of production
• Following safety and environmental requirements and raising any safety issues or concerns

Desired Skills and Experience

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who is mechanically minded, safety-conscious and comfortable working with manufacturing machinery.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Previous sheet metal or aluminium manufacturing experience
• Experience cutting, bending or forming sheet metal or aluminium
• Previous machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment
• Confidence reading drawings, measurements and dimensions
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Experience setting up or changing machine tooling
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on producing quality work
• A reliable, team-focused approach
• A strong commitment to safe work practices
• Reliable transport and appropriate Australian work rights

Forklift and/or hoist experience would also be beneficial given the material handling requirements of the role.
