Job summary

Enviropacific, Australia’s leading environmentally focused service business, invites a Process Engineer to join the National Water Engineering Team in Melbourne. You will work across the project lifecycle, delivering robust treatment solutions and leading design activities from concept through to commissioning.

You’ll contribute specialist expertise in water and wastewater processes, collaborate with project teams, and help improve performance, safety and whole‑of‑life costs for diverse water

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in process engineering for water or environmental sectors.
• Experience in process design from concept to detailed design.
• Strong problem-solving and commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
• Experience with process equipment sizing and vendor submissions.

Responsibilities

• Develop practical, technically robust and commercially competitive treatment solutions.
• Deliver process design from concept and FEED through to detailed design.
• Size and select process equipment and prepare specifications and datasheets.
• Review designs, vendor submissions, equipment selections and treatment technologies.
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting and optimisation of treatment systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability and life-cycle costs.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, risk assessments and assurance activities.
• Support laboratory, bench-scale and pilot trials for treatment technologies.
• Ensure designs meet project requirements and standards.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Join our National Water Engineering Team as a Process Engineer and help deliver practical, innovative solutions across the water and wastewater sector.

Working with our project teams and engineering disciplines, you’ll contribute across the project lifecycle, from early concept and tenders through to design, commissioning and operational optimisation.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of treatment projects while providing specialist technical expertise to our Water business nationally.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Develop practical, technically robust and commercially competitive treatment solutions.
• Deliver process design from concept and FEED through to detailed design, including process calculations, PFDs, P&IDs and design documentation.
• Size and select process equipment and prepare specifications and datasheets.
• Review designs, vendor submissions, equipment selections and treatment technologies.
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting and optimisation of treatment systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, operability and whole-of-life cost.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, risk assessments and engineering assurance activities.
• Support laboratory, bench-scale and pilot trials for treatment technologies.
• Ensure designs meet project requirements, Australian Standards, legislation and industry good practice.
• Collaborate with project, delivery, operations, suppliers and client teams.

ABOUT YOU

You’re a Process Engineer with 3+ years’ experience, or a technically minded engineer with a strong interest in water and wastewater treatment.

You’ll bring:

• A Bachelor degree in Chemical, Process, Environmental or related Engineering.
• Experience or interest in water, wastewater, environmental or industrial process engineering.
• Strong problem-solving skills and commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience preparing or reviewing technical specifications, datasheets and vendor submissions.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and technical development.
