Job summary

Evolve Scientific in Homebush, Sydney, seeks a Process Engineer to join our industrial operations on an ongoing contract, with potential to go permanent. You will work closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to optimise plant performance across waste treatment, autoclave and thermal processing systems.

This hands-on role requires strong troubleshooting, analytical skills and experience with process control/instrumentation.

Qualifications

This role requires an engineering degree in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Environmental or related discipline.
3+ years' experience in a process engineering role within an industrial environment.
Strong process troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with process control and instrumentation.
Background in waste management or heavy industries is highly regarded.
PLC experience and exposure to high-temperature processes or autoclave systems advantageous.

Responsibilities

Monitor and optimise plant and process performance.
Troubleshoot process and equipment issues and identify root causes.
Assess the impact of waste composition, pressure and temperature on plant performance.
Identify equipment deterioration and potential failure points.
Develop practical solutions for repairs, modifications and improvements.
Support major maintenance shutdowns and plant modifications.
Work with instrumentation and PLC/control systems to improve reliability.
Analyse operational data and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
Ensure all work complies with site safety, permit and operational requirements.
