Job summary

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences, is seeking a Process Development Engineer for our Melbourne site. This onsite role focuses on scaling up manufacturing processes, delivering technical reports, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to drive product quality and efficiency.

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years’ experience in food, chemical, pharmaceutical, or similar manufacturing environments.
• Understanding of process development, scale-up, and manufacturing operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support new product introductions, manufacturing trials, and scale-up activities.
• Analyze process data and prepare technical reports with recommendations for improvement.
• Develop process documentation and temporary manufacturing instructions.
• Participate in safety reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, and RC&D teams to deliver business objectives.
• Support capital projects, equipment commissioning and plant start-up.
