Job summary

Argo Natural Resources is a people-led mining business focused on safe and reliable processes in underground coal assets in Queensland. We are seeking a Process Control Systems Engineer to lead PCS activities across installation, programming, project integration and ongoing maintenance.

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will drive continuous improvement, troubleshoot complex PCS challenges and collaborate with operations, maintenance and engineering teams to optimise system

Qualifications

• PCS knowledge with underground coal mining experience.
• Experience in installation, programming and project integration of PCS.
• Ability to troubleshoot and drive continuous improvement for process control systems.
• Strong knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical expertise across the full PCS lifecycle from installation to maintenance.
• Program, integrate projects and troubleshoot PCS to optimise system performance.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance and engineering teams to drive safety, reliability and cost improvements.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for a Process Control Systems Engineer to play a key role in the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our process control systems.

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, you'll provide hands-on technical expertise across the full lifecycle of PCS-from installation, programming and project integration through to maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

ABOUT YOU

• Trade or tertiary qualifications with strong PCS knowledge and experience in underground coal mining.
• Previous experience in a PCS Engineer role, with expertise in conveyors and longwall PCS systems.
• Strong knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and safety standards.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive, self-directed and results-focused approach, with strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines and manage change.
• A commitment to continuous improvement across safety, reliability, cost and equipment availability.
• The ability to provide technical guidance and work collaboratively with operational, maintenance and engineering teams.
