Job summary

Department of Education, Victoria is seeking a Privacy Officer to provide privacy guidance across corporate, school and Early Learning Victoria staff. The role involves handling privacy complaints, conducting assessments and contributing to privacy training and policy development.

The successful candidate will collaborate with IT, legal, procurement and learning teams to ensure governance, compliance and risk mitigation across 1,600 government schools and Early Learning Victoria centres.

Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge of Victorian privacy legislation and practice is required.
• Experience in government and/or education settings is highly desirable.
• Understanding of privacy risk management and information security considerations.

Responsibilities

• Provide privacy advice, support and engagement to corporate, school and Early Learning Victoria staff.
• Respond to privacy complaints and incidents and support training/resources.
• Conduct privacy impact assessment reviews and identify/address privacy risks across the department.
