Job summary

The Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner (OVIC) invites applications for a Manager, Privacy and FOI Complaints. You will lead OVIC’s Complaints function, supervise a small team, and work across FOI and PDP Acts to ensure lawful, fair and timely handling of complaints.

This VPS-grade 5 role supports two Deputy Commissioners and partners with the Public Access and Information Security areas to uphold information rights for Victorians.

Qualifications

• Australian citizenship is required.
• Pre-employment screening will be conducted (Statutory Declaration and Consent Form).
• Security clearance eligibility and ongoing suitability required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for OVIC's Complaints function across FOI and PDP matters.
• Supervise complaints officers and manage performance to ensure timely, lawful and fair outcomes.
• Collaborate with Deputy Commissioners, Public Access and other teams; escalate serious breaches as needed.
• Prepare reports and actions regarding serious contraventions of the FOI and PDP Acts.
