Job summary

ING Australia is seeking a Data Protection Steward to shape and mature the data protection capability within the Data Office. Reporting to the Data Protection Lead, you will embed sustainable privacy practices across products, processes and change initiatives to protect customer information.

You’ll work across business, technology, risk and data teams to influence stakeholders and drive governance, DPIAs, RoPA and data lifecycle management, helping ING Australia innovate with confidence while

Qualifications

• Experience in privacy, data protection, governance, risk management or information management within a complex organisation.
• Experience collaborating across business change, project delivery, or Agile environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across business, technology, risk and data teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders across business, technology, risk and data teams to embed privacy and data protection practices into operations, products and change initiatives.
• Support Data Owners and accountable stakeholders in managing personal information responsibly.
• Provide advisory guidance on privacy obligations and data protection controls to enable business outcomes.
• Drive privacy-by-design across change initiatives and early data protection considerations in delivery lifecycles.
• Support data retention, deletion and lifecycle management requirements for personal information.
• Translate data protection issues into clear recommendations for governance forums and risk management.
• Collaborate with local, global and cross-functional teams to implement common data protection standards and engage in global forums.
• Contribute to ongoing evolution of ING Australia’s Data Protection capability through continuous improvement initiatives.
