Job summary

Megaport is seeking a mid‑level privacy and regulatory affairs professional to design, implement and maintain global privacy frameworks. Reporting to the Head of Privacy & Regulatory Affairs, you will work across teams to turn complex regulatory challenges into actionable outcomes that support compliant operations worldwide.

You will own privacy program implementation, readiness for SOC 2 and ISO 27001, and monitoring of evolving data protection laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in law or equivalent is essential.
• 3+ years of privacy/compliance experience ideally in tech, telecoms, or cloud.
• Knowledge of global privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, PDPA, etc.).
• Experience supporting privacy/compliance programs in multinational settings.
• Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar audits.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the global privacy compliance program across jurisdictions.
• Support readiness for SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other certifications.
• Monitor new privacy regulations and provide proactive policy guidance.
• Conduct privacy risk assessments and DPIAs for products and processes.

Megaport (Australia) Pty Ltd Your Role Reporting to the Head of Privacy & Regulatory Affairs , you’ll be a key player in Megaport’s global privacy and compliance efforts - helping to design, implement, and maintain frameworks that keep us ahead of evolving privacy and regulatory requirements. This is a mid-level role with real ownership: you’ll collaborate across diverse teams to turn complex privacy and compliance challenges into clear, actionable outcomes that keep Megaport doing business the right way, everywhere we operate.

What You’ll Be Owning

• Implement and maintain the global privacy compliance program to ensure compliance with global data protection laws (including GDPR, CCPA, and other key frameworks)
• Support ongoing readiness for SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other compliance certifications in collaboration with the Security team
• Monitor and interpret new and emerging data-related regulations and industry best practices (e.g. EU Data Act, EU AI Act), ensuring policies and processes remain aligned and providing proactive recommendations to the Head of Privacy
• Conduct privacy audits and readiness reviews for new markets and business initiatives
• Conduct risk and privacy impact assessments to embed privacy-by-design into our products, systems, and processes
• Develop and deliver privacy awareness and training initiatives across the organisation
• Respond to data subject requests and manage privacy incidents, including breach assessment and reporting
• Collaborate with Legal, Security, and Compliance teams to ensure a unified approach to data governance and risk management

What You Bring

• Qualifications - Bachelor Degree in Law or above essential
• 3+ years’ experience in privacy and compliance - ideally within the tech, telecommunications, or cloud sectors
• In-depth knowledge of global privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, PDPA, etc.)
• Proven experience supporting privacy or compliance programs in a multinational organisation
• Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or other audit/compliance certifications
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and advise at multiple levels
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across global teams
• Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
• IAPP certification (e.g. CIPP/E) or equivalent privacy/compliance training preferred
