Job summary

The Department of Justice and Community Safety in Victoria seeks an experienced leader to oversee prison officer teams and day-to-day custodial operations. You will coordinate operations, manage complex risk caseloads, and support staff with assessment, case management and service knowledge.

You will model the DJCS values in every interaction, work collaboratively with staff and other service providers, and drive an integrated approach to reducing re-offending across custody settings.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a correctional environment.
• Commitment to working with staff, prisoners, and service providers in reducing re-offending.
• Experience in Correctional Delivery management of staff and offender case management.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and demonstrate DJCS values in day-to-day interactions.
• Coordinate day-to-day operations of a team of prison officers in accordance with policies and standards.
• Manage a caseload of people with more complex risks and needs and actively support prison officers in assessment, case management, and program and service knowledge.
