Job summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool recruits a Registered Nursing Associate to join the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) at HMP Altcourse. The role involves primary mental health screening, promoting mental health, suicide prevention, psychoeducation, group activities and contributing to physical health checks.

Working under supervision of a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you'll support individuals with complex needs in a prison setting and develop skills, maintain CPD and deliver

Qualifications

• Maintain knowledge of the Nursing Associate scope of practice in different care settings.
• Maintain CPD and revalidation per NMC requirements.
• Maintain evidence from the Nursing Associate Training Programme.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of all elements of the nursing process and assist the registered nurse in assessment, planning, and evaluation.
• Support individuals with all aspects of care, promoting independence and person-centered care.
• Demonstrate safe administration of medicines in line with SOPs.
• Perform clinical observations (temperature, pulse, respiration).
• Undertake venepuncture, ECGs, cannulation following training.
• Record nutritional and fluid intake/output as indicated.
• Ensure privacy, dignity and safety of individuals at all times.
• Report back to registered nurses on condition and responses.
