Department of Justice in Western Australia seeks qualified psychologists or social workers to join the Psychological Health Service as Prison Counsellors. You will perform clinical assessments, provide counselling, and contribute to risk management for prisoners and those on remand.

Qualifikationen

• Evidence of current registration by AHPRA or social work qualifications consistent with AASW requirements.
• Accredited qualification in Psychology and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia; OR a tertiary qualification in Social Work with full membership eligibility and supervised practice in counselling.

Aufgaben

• Undertake clinical assessment and provide intervention to individuals held on remand in prison and to prisoners.
• Identify those at acute or chronic risk of suicide or self-harm and provide appropriate support.
• Provide counselling and psychosocial interventions to prisoners with mental health issues.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary risk management processes and case management meetings.
