Job summary

Department of Justice in Western Australia is recruiting Psychologists to deliver forensic interventions and assessments for high‑risk offenders both in custody and community settings.

You will engage in court report writing, risk assessments, and liaison with Community Corrections Officers to support offender management and rehabilitation. A challenging role offering career progression within forensic psychology.

Qualifications

• Accredited psychology qualification approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
• General registration on the register of Psychologists with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Responsibilities

• Provide psychological intervention to high‑risk offenders, including those with violent offenses, sexual offenses and extremist concerns.
• Prepare court reports and conduct risk of reoffending assessments.
• Offer consultation and liaison support to staff who manage offenders in the community and custody.
• Carry out forensic assessment services to inform risk management and treatment needs; may provide evidence in court.
