Job summary

Austrcorp Executive seeks a Principal Water Engineer to join our water engineering team in West Perth, with occasional travel across Australia.

You will lead the water resources team, direct hydraulic modelling, pump and pipe design, and drive quality assurance across projects, from concept to handover. The role offers flexible hours and remote work options within a growing, multidisciplinary consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Water engineering experience in mining, energy or utilities preferred.
• Advanced skills in PumpSim or waterGEMs or similar.
• Proven record leading teams and projects from concept to handover.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical direction to the water resources team and subcontractors.
• Produce hydraulic models for water pumping and piping infrastructure.
• Lead pump and pipe selection and mechanical system design.
• Deliver detailed water infrastructure designs.
• Develop and maintain engineering processes and procedures.
• Oversee Technical Assurance functions including QA, audits, reporting and lessons learnt.
• Provide direction on programs and projects and coordinate internal/external experts as needed.
• Support engineers with professional development and qualifications.
• Collaborate with management to develop new work streams and business strategies.

Austrcorp Executive is partnering with an Australian water management consulting services and custom designed equipment to the mining, processing, and water utility sectors.

We are looking for a resourceful and enthusiastic Principal Water Engineer to join our water engineering team based in West Perth, with the opportunity to travel to sites throughout Australia.

Responsibilities Include

• Providing leadership and technical direction to the water resources team and subcontractors
• Produce hydraulic models for water pumping/ piping infrastructure
• Pump selection, pipe selection, and mechanical system design
• Detailed water infrastructure design experience
• Developing and maintaining engineering processes and procedures
• Managing the delivery of the Technical Assurance functions, including quality assurance, audit, analysis, corrective action, reporting and lessons learnt
• Providing leadership and assistance to programs and projects on an as-required basis including technical advice and direction and sourcing internal or external expertise as required
• Assisting engineers and technical personnel with professional development and achieving qualifications
• Working closely with management to develop new work streams and overarching business strategies

The candidate

• A relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Water Engineering experience - mining, energy, utilities preferred
• Advanced skills in PumpSim modelling package, waterGEMs or similar package
• A proven track record leading teams and projects from concept to handover
