City of Melbourne is seeking a Principal Urban Research and Foresight (Urban Economist) to lead research and economic analysis guiding long-term city planning. You will translate trends into actionable recommendations for senior leaders and shape major policy and precinct development.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team, applying urban economics to drive sustainable growth and people-centered outcomes while fostering collaboration across the organisation.

Qualifikationen

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in urban economics, urban planning, research, data analytics, geography or a related discipline, with substantial professional experience
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex research, analysis or foresight projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and trends and translate them into clear, evidence-based insights and recommendations
• Sound understanding of urban systems and city-shaping dynamics, complemented by strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to research and synthesise complex trends, community needs and place-based insights, including First Nations perspectives
