Job summary

Weir Minerals Asia Pacific – Brisbane QLD is seeking a Principal Mining Engineer to be the technical expert behind Micromine Advance, our underground mine planning and scheduling solution. Working with customers and commercial teams, you will build demonstration models and develop production schedules to support evaluations and smarter decision-making.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering.
• Significant underground hard rock experience in planning, scheduling or production engineering.
• Strong knowledge of underground mine planning, forecasting and constraints.
• Experience with Micromine Advance or similar planning software.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience in technical consulting or customer-facing roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging technical demonstrations of Micromine Advance to clients.
• Build underground models and planning scenarios for evaluations.
• Collaborate with the team to support software consulting opportunities.
• Showcase scheduling, forecasting and scenario analysis value to stakeholders.
• Provide trusted guidance throughout evaluation and adoption.
