Job summary

Entura seeks a Principal Structural Transmission Lines Engineer to lead lattice structure design for transmission lines and substations. You will apply AS standards, manage client interactions, and contribute to bids and project scoping.

Based in Australia with travel to local, national and international sites, you will mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient structures on complex projects.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and eligible for Engineers Australia.
• Extensive experience in lattice structures and transmission line/substation design.
• Knowledge of AS/NZS 7000, AS 4100, AS 3600, AS 3995 and AS 1170.
• Experience with PLS Tower and PLS Pole design software.
• Ability to develop conductor loads and apply limit state design methods.
• Experience analyzing lattice towers, poles and gantries and detailing connections.

Job description

As Entura is currently growing our teams to support our exciting pipeline of projects, we are seeking an experiencedPrincipal Structural Engineer specialising in Transmission Line Design.

The Principal Structural Transmission Lines Engineer undertakes a range technical and client facing activities covering project management, technical design, bidding and scoping activities, client negotiations and stakeholder management.

Your key skills and experience include:

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), acceptable for admission as a professional engineer to Engineers Australia, or equivalent professional body.
• Significant experience in structural (Lattice structures) design work, with a particular emphasis on transmission line and substation structural design work.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the following Australian Standards: AS/NZS 7000, AS 4100, AS 3600, AS 3995 and AS 1170.
• Sound experience in the use of computer design packages such as PLS Tower, PLS Pole; Development of conductor loads for transmission and substation structures.
• Experience in the development of conductor attachment point loads for transmission and substation structures through “Limit State” design method.
• Experience in the analysis of lattice towers, pole and gantry structures, as well as lattice tower member connection detailing and design.

This role is ideally based in our Hobart office however flexible work arrangements are considered. Given the diversity of our clients and projects, there may be some local, national and international travel required.
