Job summary

Entura is seeking a Principal Structural Transmission Lines Engineer to lead lattice structure design and project delivery, focusing on transmission line and substation structures. You will manage technically complex design tasks, engage with clients, and oversee outcomes across local and international projects.

The role supports Hobart-based work with flexible arrangements and occasional travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Civil, or Mechanical Engineering and eligible for Engineers Australia.

Job description

As Entura is currently growing our teams to support our exciting pipeline of projects, we are seeking an experiencedPrincipal Structural Engineer specialising in Transmission Line Design.

The Principal Structural Transmission Lines Engineer undertakes a range technical and client facing activities covering project management, technical design, bidding and scoping activities, client negotiations and stakeholder management.

Your key skills and experience include:

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), acceptable for admission as a professional engineer to Engineers Australia, or equivalent professional body.
• Significant experience in structural (Lattice structures) design work, with a particular emphasis on transmission line and substation structural design work.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the following Australian Standards: AS/NZS 7000, AS 4100, AS 3600, AS 3995 and AS 1170.
• Sound experience in the use of computer design packages such as PLS Tower, PLS Pole; Development of conductor loads for transmission and substation structures.
• Experience in the development of conductor attachment point loads for transmission and substation structures through “Limit State” design method.
• Experience in the analysis of lattice towers, pole and gantry structures, as well as lattice tower member connection detailing and design.

This role is ideally based in our Hobart office however flexible work arrangements are considered. Given the diversity of our clients and projects, there may be some local, national and international travel required.
