Job summary

Akaysha Energy is seeking a Risk and Insurance expert to own the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, drive business resilience, and manage the global insurance program. You will embed a risk-aware culture across Akaysha and partner with brokers, insurers and internal teams to optimize cover and resilience.

You’ll lead reporting and training, influence stakeholders at all levels, and push for continuous governance improvements in our evolving energy portfolio.

Qualifications

• Experience leading enterprise risk management programs.
• Experience with insurance program management.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and translate risk concepts into actionable guidance.
• Experience with incident management and business continuity planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and improve Akaysha’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, embedding a strong risk culture across the business.
• Drive business resilience planning, including incident management and business continuity programs that support operational readiness.
• Own Akaysha’s global insurance strategy and portfolio, ensuring effective, commercially sound coverage across corporate and project activities.
• Partner with brokers, insurers and internal stakeholders to manage renewals, claims, policy placement and contractual risk exposures.
• Provide strategic risk and insurance reporting, advice and training across Akaysha.

We built the world’s most powerful battery, the 850MW Waratah Super Battery, and now we need a Risk and Insurance expert to join the team to help us continue to develop our portfolio.

We’re 200 people around the world with 40 GWh of projects moving through development across Australia, Japan, the US and Germany.

Akaysha build, own, and operate our assets, we don’t hand a project to someone else once it’s approved. The people who design a battery site are the same people who build it and run it for the next twenty years.

You’ll join our Legal, Risk and Compliance team, and own our Enterprise Risk Management Framework, business resilience planning, and global insurance program. You will also be responsible for driving a risk-aware culture across Akaysha Energy.

What you’ll do
