JP Solutions Australia is seeking a Network Architect to lead design work for secure, large-scale IT networks across on-prem and cloud environments. The role focuses on data centre migrations, SDN, and interconnections with Telco providers, delivering concrete architectural artefacts and governance.

Initial End Date: 30/06/2027 (likely to be extended)
Maximum Rate: $1,057.26 per day, including super ($1,066.66 plus GST if an ABN)
Location: Hybrid work option is available whereby the candidate will be required to be in the office (Mainly Parramatta, and on occasion Sydney Olympic Park) for 3 days per week (must be able/willing to commit to this); 2 days WFH.
Restrictions: You must either be an Australian Citizen; Permanent resident of Australia; or New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, and must not have lived outside of Australia for 12 months or more in the last 5 years.
Existing Baseline Vetting, or NV1 or 2 clearances, is beneficial, as it speeds up the vetting process, but is not essential.
The Network Architect is the person in charge of producing architectural artefacts, deriving patterns and standards, and providing technical guidance to implement network architecture, specifically, you'll focus on Secure Internet Gateway, Cross Domain Gateway, Data Centre Networking, Software Defined Networking; and Internet Connectivity, and Network Security.
The Network Architect will work with other Solution Architects to drive the network component inside that architecture; likely multiple and often concurrent projects. They need someone that has this Solution Architecture experience, as they are not seeking someone to simply configure the network, they actually need to deliver the solution design.
The projects are varied and include data centre migrations in designing new CISCO Networks solutions, Cloud, Mesh Networks, Multi-Network, ETL etc. Again, we need someone who can deliver the network solution design.
8 Years+ Network Architect experience - network architecture and design. Design of a new data centre’s Network Architecture (as a primary data centre). Experience in designing large, complex and secure IT networks in large complex organisations.
Solution Architecture experience: they need someone that has this Solution Architecture experience, as they are not seeking someone to simply configure the network, they actually need to deliver the solution design.
Must have an in-depth understanding and experience with Critical Networks; Software-defined networking(SDN); Network Virtualisation; DC LAN Network, and Carrier Interconnections; Mapping out the interconnections, and working with the Telco providers.
Strong understanding of network technologies, protocols, and industry trends (SDWAN, TCP/IP, BGP, VPN, IPSec, Routing, Switching, traditional WAN technologies).
Experience in network security technologies (Palo Alto, CheckPoint firewall, Prisma Access, IPS, third-party and users remote access VPN, Forward/Reverse proxy etc).
Experience with cloud networking resources (AWS Transit Gateway, VPC/VNET, Azure vWAN, Load Balancers, NAT Gateways, IPSec, Web Application Firewall and Gateway etc).
Strong knowledge of architectural concepts and principles.
Ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and experience in dealing with complex situations.
Certification will be advantageous, but not essential:
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or equivalent level certification
Solution Architect certification is highly desirable, but not essential
AWS / Azure Cloud certification (at an associate level)
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Data Center
ITIL v3 / TOGAF 9; and
Agile Foundations certifications
