Job summary

Architech Network and Communications Solutions – Port Melbourne VIC is expanding its project engineering team and seeks a Senior Network and Security Engineer who thrives in complex environments and enjoys tackling challenging technical problems.

You will lead design workshops, design and implement secure networking technologies (including Cisco SDA), and deliver comprehensive documentation for critical infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in secure network engineering, preferably in a systems integrator environment.
• Comfortable working autonomously and within a team.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco SDA and/or Cisco NDFC is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design workshops with various stakeholders.
• Design and implement a range of different secure networking technologies - including Cisco SDA - in both greenfield and existing environments.
• Produce high quality documentation including network diagrams, detailed designs, implementation plans, change requests, and as built documentation.
• Work a mix of different projects through a combination of leading larger projects with the support of the wider engineering team, working as a team member within large projects, and working autonomously on your own projects.
• Work with leading technologies including Cisco (routing, switching, SD-WAN, wireless, security) and Fortinet (firewalls, VPNs, and SD-WAN).
• Be responsible for planning and delivering your work within allocated budgets.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure delivery expectations are met or exceeded.
• Provide subject matter expertise and input to the solution architects where required to improve scoping.
• Providing leadership and guidance to junior engineers.
• Be an escalation point for our managed services team for complex problems.
• Contribute to the team knowledge base and other knowledge sharing activities.
• Participate in the on call escalation roster.

The Role\

\

Reporting to the Head of Project Engineering, this role will see you as a member of a highly skilled team delivering a diverse range of projects in critical infrastructure environments. You will:\

\

What We Are Looking For\

\

5+ years' experience in secure network engineering, preferably in a systems integrator environment.\

\

Someone who is equally comfortable working autonomously and within a team\

\

Solid hands-on experience with a combination of:\

\

\
• Cisco routing & switching (CCNP or CCIE)\
\
• Cisco and Fortinet next generation firewalls or equivalent\
\
• Cisco Wireless (Cisco, Meraki or equivalent enterprise Wi‑Fi)\
\
• Cisco ISE or competing NAC products\
\

\

A multitasker that can switch between different complex projects as required.\

\

Hands on experience with Cisco SDA and/or Cisco NDFC is highly desirable.\

\

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.\

\

Customer-first mindset with ability to work in high-pressure environments.\

\

Certification Requirements (must be current)\

\

Fortinet NSE4 or higher is highly desirable\
