Weir Software Solutions is seeking a Principal Mining Engineer to serve as the technical expert behind Micromine Advance, our underground mine planning and scheduling solution. You will work closely with customers and commercial teams to build models and schedules that demonstrate value.

Based in Brisbane with a hybrid work model, you will engage with mining companies across Australia and globally, influence product development, and provide guidance through evaluations and deployment.

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in Mining Engineering.
• Significant underground hard rock mining experience, ideally within planning, scheduling or production engineering environments.
• Strong understanding of underground mine planning, scheduling, production forecasting and operational constraints.
• Experience with mine planning and scheduling software such as Micromine Advance, Deswik, Spry, EPS, MineRP or similar platforms.
• Ability to engage and influence both technical and operational stakeholders.
• Strong presentation, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Previous experience in technical consulting, customer-facing or pre-sales roles will be highly regarded.

The Opportunity

This role is part of Micromine, one of the specialist businesses within Weir Software Solutions.

As a Principal Mining Engineer, you will be the technical expert behind Micromine Advance, our advanced underground mine planning and scheduling solution. Working closely with customers and commercial teams, you will build demonstration models, develop production schedules, lead software evaluations and showcase how advanced planning technology can help mining operations make smarter, more confident decisions.
