Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design deliverables for water infrastructure in Western Australia. You will oversee design, coordination, and delivery across multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring client satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

You will mentor junior engineers, apply Water Corp standards, and influence project budgets and timelines while contributing to new design standards and knowledge sharing across the WA network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with a mechanical emphasis.
• CPEng credentials preferred or required for senior leadership.
• 8+ years in consulting or as a principal engineer in related water/utility projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced mechanical engineering designs across drawings, reports, presentations, and regulatory submissions with minimal supervision.
• Lead coordination meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors to align project specifications and ensure smooth delivery.
• Tackle technically complex projects and act as a go-to technical resource for the wider team.
• Apply knowledge of WA market and Water Corporation design standards; contribute to new mechanical design standards and specifications.
• Mentor junior staff and support their professional growth within a collaborative team environment.
• Opportunity to supervise project resources, manage budgets, and influence delivery timelines with Project Managers.
