Job summary

Department of Education Victoria – Lake Bolac VIC is seeking a dedicated principal to lead and manage the planning, delivery, evaluation and improvement of education for all students in the community. You will deploy resources provided by the Department and the school community to achieve strong outcomes.

As executive officer of the school council, you will ensure sound advice is provided, decisions are implemented, and support and resources are provided for council meetings.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to create a shared vision, define and gain acceptance of school goals and set and communicate expectations for effective performance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage the quality of teaching and create a positive culture of challenge, support and collaboration.
• Demonstrated capacity to produce and implement clear, evidence-based improvement plans and policies and lead innovation and change.

Responsibilities

• Ensure delivery of a comprehensive education program to all students.
• Act as executive officer of the school council and support its effective governance.
• Establish and manage financial systems in accordance with Department and school council requirements.
• Represent the Department in the school and local community and implement council decisions.
• Contribute to system-wide activities, policy and strategic planning and development.
