Job summary

Iluka Resources is seeking an environmental professional to join our Environment team in a Perth-based role. You will be responsible for delivering environmental approvals for nominated mining and development projects, reporting to the Group Environment Manager.

The role requires a strong track record in environmental approvals, knowledge of state and federal legislation, and the ability to coordinate with government officials and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing environmental approvals for mining or development projects.
• Understanding of environmental impact assessment principles and regulatory processes.
• Strong communication with government officials and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to lead teams, consultants and technical specialists.
• Proven ability to manage time, budget and quality of deliverables.
• Current C Class Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities

• Define approvals processes and schedules, manage baseline studies, evaluate impacts, design mitigating strategies, and prepare approvals documentation.
• Develop relationships with Government officials and regulatory agencies.
• Provide guidance to project teams to ensure compliance with legislation and company environmental policies.

About the role

An opportunity has become available for an accomplished environmental professional with a proven record of gaining environmental approvals for new and existing projects.

We are seeking the services of a highly motivated environmental professional to join our dynamic Environment team. Reporting to the Group Environment Manager, you will be responsible for delivering approvals for nominated projects.

The role will be responsible for:

• Defining approvals processes and schedules, managing baseline and other environmental studies, evaluating environmental impacts, designing mitigating strategies and producing high quality approvals documentation

• Developing close working relationships with Government officials

• Working effectively with the broader project and operational teams, including provision of guidance and advice to ensure compliance with legislation and company environmental policies and procedures

About you

To be successful for this role, you will have:

• Strong experience working in a similar role

• High standards of behaviour that align with Iluka's values of Commitment, Integrity & Responsibility

• Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent

• Thorough understanding of principles of environmental impact assessment and environmental management

• Broad understanding of mining and minerals processing and relevant environmental matters relating to these practices

• Excellent knowledge of and experience with relevant State & Federal Government environmental and planning legislation and regulatory processes

• Extensive experience in the development and submission of environmental approvals documentation to regulatory agencies

• Ability to lead teams, consultants and technical specialists

• Demonstrated ability to manage time, budget and quality of deliverables

• Excellent computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, GIS, PowerPoint)

• Current C Class Drivers Licence
