Job summary

SLR Consulting is seeking a Principal Engineering Consultant in Mining Advisory based in Perth, WA. You will lead multi-disciplinary advisory projects, evaluate mining studies, and support financing and investment decisions across Australia and international markets.

You will engage with mining operators, financiers and boards, oversee project delivery, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to business development and proposal activities while driving technical excellence and client value.

Qualifications

• Experience in senior engineering, maintenance, asset management, infrastructure, or project delivery within mining.
• Strong stakeholder management with clients, investors and boards.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Advisory & Evaluation: deliver financial, commercial, and technical assessments across mining studies, lender advisory engagements, due diligence, and investment evaluations.

Working closely with mining companies, financiers, investors and project developers, you'll help shape major investment, development and operational decisions across the resource sector. The role requires extensive mining industry experience in engineering, maintenance, infrastructure, asset management, project delivery or operational leadership functions, including direct experience in site-based mining operational roles and or site-based leadership teams. Strong financial acumen coupled with skills in technical evaluation, maintenance strategy, infrastructure assessment, asset management, operational readiness and project execution are essential. The successful candidate will engage with stakeholders from operations through to executive management, boards, financiers and investors, while contributing to business development, proposal preparation, and the continued growth of SLR's Mining Advisory business. Current registration of a Professional Engineer under the Western Australia engineering registration scheme or , eligibility to obtain this status.* **Mining Industry Experience:** Extensive experience in senior engineering, maintenance, asset management, infrastructure, project delivery, reliability, or operational leadership roles within the mining sector. Demonstrated experience supporting mining operations, site-based leadership teams, or major mining projects. A minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in the mining industry is required.* **Engineering & Operational Expertise:** Strong capability in asset management, maintenance strategy, infrastructure evaluation, operational readiness, project execution, reliability improvement, and operational performance assessment. Sound understanding of mining operations, fixed plant, mobile equipment, maintenance systems, and project delivery frameworks.
