Job summary

ACOR Consultants in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to provide leadership and project delivery expertise. You will design and deliver key projects locally and nationally, while leading and mentoring staff and advancing ACOR’s capabilities.

The role requires proven engineering leadership and a CPEng qualification; healthcare or defence project experience is highly regarded. You will play a key part in business development and strategic delivery across the national

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia.
• Eligible for membership of Engineers Australia.
• Site induction training card (white card) required.
• Previous experience in an engineering consultancy or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Represent ACOR with clients to help develop the business.
• Attract new clients to ACOR.
• Increase ACOR capability and service lines.
• Lead and mentor a project team; provide staff development.
• Oversee project delivery and quality control.
• Manage budgets, time-tracking and invoicing.

About the role:

Our Sydney office is looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to provide leadership and project delivery expertise. You will be responsible for the design and delivery of key projects, both locally and on a national level and providing project leadership and strategic support

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proven engineering leadership and hold a CPEng qualification. Experience working on key healthcare or defence projects is preferred and will be highly regarded.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Representing ACOR with existing and new clients to help develop the business
• Attracting new clients to ACOR
• Increasing ACOR capability
• Managing a team including leading and mentoring staff
• Continuous staff training and development of the team
• Providing general project oversight and advice to staff working on projects
• Maintaining quality control procedures
• Consistently achieving reasonable monthly budget targets
• Preparing fee proposals and then tracking, time and budget to invoicing and cash flow are appropriately managed
• Seeking and developing new business opportunities
• Assisting in the development of delivery strategies to develop and expand markets

Skills and experience:

• University engineering degree or equivalent, recognised by Engineers Australia
• Eligible for membership of Engineers Australia
• Site induction training card (white card)
• Previous experience within an engineering consultancy or equivalent
• Strong business development skills
• High level of project management and technical ability across within the electrical discipline
• Highly developed engineering and assessment skills
• Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
