Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Principal Consultant to lead Commercial Advisory engagements for major programmes in Australia. The role focuses on procurement strategy, commercial setup and delivery across real estate, infrastructure, defence, energy and resources sectors.

You will guide clients in establishing optimal commercial approaches, translate visions into practical solutions, and deploy commercial management practices.

Our Programme Commercial Advisory team within PA supports iconic clients across a wide range of sectors through designing, developing, implementing, and optimising commercial strategies, commercial models, and functional operating models. This ranges across the commercial lifecycle from market intelligence through commercial strategy development optimising commercial performance and value.

We are seeking talented individuals at aPrincipal Consultantgrade across multiple locations in Australia who are seeking the next step in their career supporting our clients’ major programmes and organisation in setting a new standard of supply chain and commercial delivery for the industry.

As a Commercial Advisory Principal Consultant you will be part of our leading team focused on the set-up, transformation, and delivery of some of the most iconic major programmes, utilising your Procurement/Commercial experience to make a difference in how programmes are set up for success and optimised.

Key aspects of the role include (but are not limited to):

• Understanding and communicating the key strategic levers to enable successful outcomes-driven commercial environments for clients.
• Able to guide clients in understanding how to establish optimal commercial approaches throughout the asset lifecycle.
• Ability to utilise your experience and contribute to translating a client’s vision into effective and realistic commercial solutions, including incentivisation.
• Ability to deploy and/ or optimise commercial management strategies, processes, tools, and systems and tailoring our standard methodologies to client needs.
• Proactively connect and collaborate with diverse and multi-disciplinary teams both internally and externally.
• Developing strong relationships with client stakeholders at all levels.
• Supporting key activities within the Programme Advisory team including
• internal development of commercial service transformation products and methodologies.
• identify, contribute to and progress business generation opportunities where appropriate, working closely alongside senior leadership and wider Turner & Townsend teams.

• Commercial:
• A deep understanding of one or more of real estateinfrastructure, defence and/or energy and natural resources markets, and associated commercial requirements.
• Awareness of the commercial lifecycle and how this supports clients.
• Ability to understand and operate within large-scale, complex environments.
• Experience of delivering projects within commercial / transformational environments.
• Familiarity with construction industry context, models, and initiatives (e.g. Construction Playbook, Project 13).
• Familiarity with relevant legislative requirements (e.g. public/sector procurement regulations)
• Qualified, or in an advanced process of becoming qualified in MCIPS, RICS or equivalent professional qualification is desirable.
• Experience in NEC Contracts would be advantageous.
