Job summary

Insight is seeking a Principal Consultant - AI Apps & Data in Perth, WA. The role combines sales leadership with technical governance, guiding Azure-based data solutions and AI initiatives across client engagements.

You will lead technical delivery, collaborate with clients and colleagues, and mentor delivery consultants on larger engagements while driving strategic value and upskilling opportunities within a supportive, people-first environment.

About the role

Leadership: The Leader for this role is Ian Barker, Capability Lead, AI Apps & Data. As a member of our team, you will be part of a supportive and collaborative environment that fosters growth, innovation, knowledge sharing and creativity.

As a Principal Consultant, you will be a sales focused technology specialist, who is viewed as a trusted advisor by our clients. We will count on you to act as the technical lead on projects, overseeing a number of Technical/Delivery Consultants on larger engagements. Along the way, you will get to:

• Engage C-level stakeholders through regular presales activities and demonstrations, aligning client business needs with Insight’s technology offerings.
• Assess enterprise clients’ needs and architect, design and implement Azure Data solutions.
• Produce high-quality technical artefacts, proposals and presentations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share intellectual property across the organisation.

What we’re looking for

• Excellent communication, presentation and relationship building skills.
• Significant experience in professional services, with end-to-end experience across pre-sales, architecture, design and delivery.
• Demonstrated hands on experience in designing, building and implementing Microsoft solutions based around Azure IaaS and PaaS
• Solid experience with the Azure Data platform including Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, Fabric.
• Experience designing and implementing solutions using Microsoft Fabric & Power BI
• Proven experience with Azure OpenAI integration and deployment.
• Familiarity with GPT models, and prompt engineering on Azure.
• Experience building multi-agent systems
• Experience with dbt highly desired
