ACOR is seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to establish and grow our Civil Engineering capability in Western Australia, starting with the Perth office. You will lead a local team, build client relationships, and secure opportunities while delivering complex projects.

This leadership role offers autonomy, a clear pathway for career progression, and the chance to shape ACOR's WA presence within a national, employee‑owned firm.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Civil Engineering with CPEng (or actively working towards).
  • Proven leadership experience delivering Civil projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong business development capability with established network to win work.
  • Excellent technical knowledge across Civil design and multidisciplinary delivery.
  • Commercial awareness for project performance and financial outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment and growth of ACOR's Civil Engineering capability in Perth.
  • Build, mentor and develop a high-performing local Civil team aligned with ACOR's national standards, culture and technical excellence.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, contractors, government agencies and industry partners to drive sustainable business growth.
  • Identify and secure new project opportunities while supporting the continued expansion of ACOR's Western Australian presence.
  • Lead and contribute to the delivery of complex multidisciplinary Civil projects, ensuring high-quality technical outcomes.
  • Oversee project performance, resourcing, commercial outcomes and risk management across the local project portfolio.
  • Collaborate closely with ACOR's national Civil team to leverage technical expertise, resources and project opportunities.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and the long-term growth of ACOR's Western Australian business.

With the opening of our brand-new Perth office and a strong pipeline of secured work, we are seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to help establish and grow our Civil Engineering capability in Western Australia.

This is a unique leadership opportunity to shape ACOR's Civil presence in the WA market while being supported by our established national Civil team. You'll have the autonomy to build client relationships, grow a local team and help create a long-term, sustainable business, backed by the technical expertise, reputation and resources of one of Australia's leading employee-owned engineering consultancies.

Combining people leadership, business development and hands-on project delivery, you will play a key role in expanding ACOR's presence across sectors including defence, health, government, industrial, resources, mission critical and commercial developments.

About You

You are an experienced Civil Engineering leader who enjoys developing people, building client relationships and growing businesses.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering with CPEng (or actively working towards).
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex Civil engineering projects from concept through to completion.
  • Proven leadership experience, including mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong business development capability with an established network and track record of winning work.
  • Excellent technical knowledge across Civil design and multidisciplinary project delivery.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of project performance, utilisation and financial outcomes.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ambition to build something that will have a lasting impact.
