Job summary

Livingstone Shire Council is seeking a Principal Civil Designer based in Yeppoon, Queensland. The role combines hands-on technical design with leadership of a small team, delivering major municipal infrastructure projects and ensuring compliance with engineering standards.

You will mentor staff and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. Based in the Livingstone Shire region, the position offers a permanent full-time contract, relocation support, and a strong benefits package

Qualifications

• Tertiary civil engineering qualification and substantial practical experience.
• Experience in civil infrastructure design, drafting, estimating and documentation.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D software.
• Current C Class Driver Licence and White Card, or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine civil designs, plans, quantities and budgets.
• Coordinate site surveying, including condition collection and set-out.
• Manage daily technical workflow and team priorities.
• Provide technical direction, coaching and guidance to staff.
• Ensure compliance with standards, specifications and quality controls.
• Liaise with councils, consultants, contractors and stakeholders.
• Maintain up-to-date project records for accountability.
