Job summary

Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI) is seeking a Principal Budget Advisor to lead budget submissions, Budget Papers and resourcing plans that support WA’s transport future.

You will deliver evidence-based proposals, advise Corporate Executive, and work with stakeholders to ensure well-costed, well-evidenced submissions in line with government requirements. This is a permanent, senior role with opportunities for further offers.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial management and reporting.
• Proven ability to develop robust, evidence-based budget proposals.
• Ability to influence decision-makers and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and negotiation of budget submissions and Budget Papers.
• Provide trusted financial advice to Corporate Executive and business areas.
• Support short and long-term financial planning across the Department.
• Mentor and uplift financial management capability within the Department.
