VHD Studio in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Principal Architect to lead a team across education, commercial and residential projects. You will drive delivery, quality, and client briefing, while shaping the studio's architectural direction.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring of graduates, coordination of consultants, and compliance with BCA/NCC standards, with a strong focus on business development and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years post graduate experience as a registered Architect.
• Advanced use of Autodesk Revit.
• Experience in independent project coordination—from site acquisition to construction completion.
• Experience coordinating consultants & stakeholders.
• Experience managing clients.
• Skilled at interpreting architectural plans and technical documents.
• Current knowledge of BCA/NCC, industry Legislation, Codes and Standards.
• Strong organisational skills including time management within tight timeframes.

VHD Studio is an award-winning building design company. Our capabilities include Education facilities, Commercial buildings, Industrial Design & Multi Residential Projects. Our team are based in Toowoomba and Brisbane, allowing us to deliver innovative designs throughout South Queensland.

THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Principal Architect to join our Brisbane office.

The Principal Architect will act in a leadership role, whilst delivering professional architectural / design services across the VHD Studio business entities. Key performance expectations include:

Leadership and oversight of project delivery to achieve agreed program, high quality, financial and client project brief objectives.

Active contribution to business development, client relationship management and growth of the VHD Studio architectural business entity.

Effective management, mentoring and professional development of architectural staff, graduates and students.

Maintenance of high professional standards, quality assurance procedures, risk management practices and compliance with relevant registration requirements.

Contribution to studio leadership, operational improvement and the ongoing development of the architectural business entity's systems, culture and technical capability.

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications
