Job summary

Coomera Anglican College on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced Primary Learning Support Teacher - Learning & Behaviour to join our SWELLE team in a full-time permanent role commencing in 2027.

The successful candidate will support Prep to Year 2 with inclusive education, targeted interventions and behaviour support, collaborating with classroom teachers to access, engage and accelerate student learning.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Inclusive Education and current QCT registration.
• Experience in inclusive education, learning support and differentiated teaching practices.
• Ability to use student data to inform intervention and monitor progress.

Responsibilities

• Working collaboratively with classroom teachers to identify and support students requiring additional learning, engagement or behaviour support.
• Providing targeted individual, small and large group and in-class intervention based on identified student needs.
• Supporting inclusive classroom practices, differentiation and the implementation of practical, evidence-informed reasonable adjustments.
• Providing proactive and responsive behaviour support to strengthen student engagement, participation and success.
• Developing, implementing and reviewing SAPs in collaboration with classroom teachers and the SWELLE team.
• Supporting NCCD processes, including documentation, evidence collection and the recording of reasonable adjustments.
• Delivering evidence-based interventions and using student assessment data to monitor progress.
• Contributing to literacy, numeracy, extension and enrichment programs.
• Working collaboratively with families, Teaching Assistants, College staff and external professionals to support students with diverse and complex needs.

The Role

Coomera Anglican College is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Primary Learning Support Teacher - Learning & Behaviour to join our SWELLE (Student Wellbeing and Learning Enhancement) team in a full-time permanent position commencing in 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about inclusive education, learning support and behaviour support, and supporting students with diverse learning and behavioural needs to access, engage in and experience success in their learning.

Working collaboratively with classroom teachers and the SWELLE team, the successful candidate will provide targeted learning enhancement and intervention, behaviour support and inclusive education support. The role has the potential to work across Prep to Year 6; however, in 2027, the successful candidate will be allocated to the P-2 Sub-School and work closely with an individual year level.

Key Responsibilities

• Working collaboratively with classroom teachers to identify and support students requiring additional learning, engagement or behaviour support.
• Providing targeted individual, small and large group and in-class intervention based on identified student needs.
• Supporting inclusive classroom practices, differentiation and the implementation of practical, evidence-informed reasonable adjustments.
• Providing proactive and responsive behaviour support to strengthen student engagement, participation and success.
• Developing, implementing and reviewing Student Adjustment Plans (SAPs) in collaboration with classroom teachers and the SWELLE team.
• Supporting NCCD processes, including documentation, evidence collection and the recording of reasonable adjustments.
• Delivering evidence-based interventions and using student assessment data to monitor progress and inform future support.
• Contributing to literacy, numeracy, extension and enrichment programs.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, families, Teaching Assistants, College staff and external professionals to support students with diverse and complex needs.
• Contributing positively to the broader life and culture of the Primary Sub-School and College.

The Successful Candidate Will Ideally Demonstrate

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Inclusive Education and current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
• Demonstrated experience in inclusive education, learning support and differentiated teaching practices.
• Strong understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), reasonable adjustments and evidence-based intervention.
• Experience supporting students with diverse academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs, including the use of proactive and responsive strategies to support engagement and success.
• Sound knowledge of NCCD requirements and associated documentation.
• Ability to use student data and assessment information to inform intervention and monitor student progress.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and manage competing priorities.
• A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous professional learning and reflective practice.
• Commitment to the Anglican ethos and values of Coomera Anglican College, including child safety, student wellbeing and appropriate professional boundaries.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
