Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education seeks an Acting Primary Learning Leader for St Patrick's Primary School, Gympie, to support teachers, drive collaboration and improve student outcomes. The role focuses on data-driven planning, mentoring, and improving literacy and numeracy across the curriculum.

The successful candidate will provide feedback on pedagogy, use formative assessment to inform decisions, and contribute to safeguarding and inclusion initiatives. Fixed-term to 2027 with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Mentoring, coaching and advising teachers on classroom pedagogy and planning.
• Strong data analysis skills to track student progress and inform instructional adjustments, inclusive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student progress.
• Experience in promoting and facilitating literacy and numeracy strategies across curriculum areas.
• Expertise in using formative assessments to guide curriculum decisions and improve student learning.
• Knowledge of literacy and numeracy strategies across various curriculum areas to support teachers.
• For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

Responsibilities

• Providing professional support in the use of data to track student progress at individual, cohort and whole school level, making modifications to improve student outcomes, and plan for further learning.
• Providing teachers with feedback on classroom pedagogy and planning.
• Supporting teachers in the use of formative assessment to inform teaching and curriculum decision making.
• Promoting and facilitating an understanding of the literacy and numeracy demands and practices within each curriculum area.
• Monitoring and analysing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student achievement data in literacy to accelerate literacy progress.
