Job summary

SCEGGS Darlinghurst is seeking a caring and adaptable Teaching Assistant to support primary students from Kindergarten to Year 6 in learning and wellbeing. The role involves working under teachers and the Learning Support team to provide targeted support in classrooms and groups.

The successful applicant will assist with literacy and numeracy, reinforce skills, and help students access learning with individualized support. Commitment to the school’s Christian ethos is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in Education Support or working with children would be an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support learning, engagement and wellbeing of students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
• Assist students to access learning and build confidence and independence.
• Provide scaffolding and learning adjustments as needed; reinforce literacy and numeracy programs.
• Assist with organisation and positive learning behaviours and prepare teaching resources.
