Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education is seeking a Primary Teacher (Health & Physical Education) for Star of the Sea School in Torquay, Queensland. The role is part-time (21 hours per week) with days to be determined, focusing on delivering HPE within the Australian Curriculum framework.

The successful candidate will work closely with the leadership team, teachers, and staff to provide a nurturing, inclusive learning environment and contribute to the school’s Catholic values and student wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment that is learner‑centred, supportive, cooperative, and aligned with relevant curriculum policies
• Collaboratively developing and implementing quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy; evaluating their effectiveness; assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes; and reporting these to students, parents and the community
• Working collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers and other staff members in contributing to the professional life of the school and fostering a positive school culture
• Proactively engaging with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
• Establishing positive relationships in the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral development
• Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
