Job summary

Allianz Australia seeks a Pricing Lead to drive data-driven pricing decisions across our insurance products in Sydney and Adelaide. This high-autonomy role combines deep pricing expertise with business influence, delivering strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders across Allianz and RAA teams.

You will develop pricing models for claims, quotes, retention and pricing optimisation, translating analytics into actionable guidance while shaping governance and risk programs.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies or related field.
• Fellowship (FIAA or equivalent) highly regarded, with progress towards Fellowship considered.
• Significant pricing or actuarial experience in general insurance, financial services or consulting.
• Strong pricing and analytical capability with Emblem, Radar, SAS, R or Python experience.
• Ability to operate independently, set priorities and make commercial recommendations in evolving environments.

• Lead development and implementation of pricing models across claims, quote conversion, customer retention and pricing optimisation.

• Lead pricing initiatives from identification through implementation, monitor outcomes and refine strategy.

About The Role

As a Pricing Lead, you'll play a key role in supporting RAA's pricing strategy by leading complex pricing initiatives and delivering data-driven insights that shape pricing decisions across RAA's insurance products. You will balance customer value, commercial outcomes and sustainable growth while working across multiple stakeholder groups to deliver strategic outcomes.

This is a high-autonomy role suited to someone who enjoys identifying opportunities, creating structure in ambiguous environments and influencing outcomes across technical and business stakeholders. The role provides technical and commercial leadership through expertise, initiative and stakeholder influence rather than through direct people management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pricing recommendations and strategic insights to stakeholders, reflecting competitive, customer and commercial considerations.
• Lead the development and implementation of pricing models across claims, quote conversion, customer retention and pricing optimisation.
• Take ownership of the ongoing evolution of rating and pricing models through advanced analytics, emerging technologies and industry best practice.
• Translate complex analytical findings into clear, commercially actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Lead and influence pricing initiatives from identification through implementation, monitor outcomes and refine strategy based on observed performance.
• Contribute to product strategy development and support execution across Allianz and RAA stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve products, pricing approaches, processes and customer outcomes.
• Support business transformation, integration and change initiatives affecting pricing capability, systems or operating models.
• Implement and continually enhance pricing governance, controls and risk management frameworks.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
• Fellowship (FIAA or equivalent) highly regarded, with strong progress towards Fellowship also considered.
• Significant pricing or actuarial experience gained within general insurance, financial services and/or consulting environments.
• Strong pricing and analytical capability, with experience using modern pricing, statistical and data science tools such as Emblem, Radar, SAS, R, Python or equivalent platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently, establish priorities and make sound commercial recommendations in complex and evolving environments.
• Proven experience influencing business outcomes through stakeholder engagement and evidence-based recommendations.
• Experience delivering initiatives involving transformation, system migration, operating model change or business integration would be highly regarded.
• Strong communication, relationship management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships across Allianz, RAA and broader stakeholder groups.
• A commercially minded, pragmatic and proactive approach, with the ability to balance strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement and hands‑on analytical delivery.
